    Hanley Foundation, a West Palm Beach-based non-profit organization with a mission of eliminating addiction through prevention, treatment, advocacy, and recovery support, seeks Group Counselors to join a growing team at our state-of-the-art substance use/mental health treatment facility in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida. In this role, you will play a vital part in facilitating group therapy sessions, helping patients develop coping mechanisms, and empowering them on their path to recovery. You will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals to provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment in a supportive and encouraging environment.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate various group therapy sessions, including psycho-educational groups, relapse prevention groups, and process groups using evidence-based models and techniques.
    • Educate patients on substance misuse, mental health issues, recovery, and related topics.
    • Develop and implement an engaging group curriculum tailored to address specific patient needs and treatment goals.
    • Create a safe and supportive space where patients feel comfortable sharing, learning from each other, and building connections.
    • Document treatment progress and maintain accurate patient records following HIPAA guidelines.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in substance use disorder and mental health treatment.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of substance use treatment principles and evidence-based practices, and work experience in a 12-step immersion program.
    • Knowledge of mental health treatment principles and evidence-based practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Able to provide care to diverse patient groups, including women, older adults, individuals with co-occurring disorders, and survivors of trauma.
    • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered care.
    • Strong ability to manage group dynamics and facilitate productive discussions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in documentation and record-keeping.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree or higher in social work, counseling psychology, or a related field.
    • State licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) preferred.
    • Minimum two years of experience facilitating group therapy for individuals with substance use disorders, and co-occurring issues.
    • If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety is required.
