Hook Tender

Weyerhaeuser's Coos Bay Timberlands operation, based out of Coos Bay, OR has an opening for a Hook Tender. We are seeking individuals who desire to work in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time, hourly position. Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k plans, vacation, and holidays. Rate of pay is $36.280 per hour.

Key Functions:

• Safely and competently coordinate logging operations

• Expected to make daily adjustments to maximize logging system output as dictated by business needs (weather, labor, truck availability, etc.)

• Safely and competently operate the tailhold cat or tailhold shovel on various slopes and soils

• Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Two years of experience working in a logging environment with crew leadership responsibilities

• Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment

• Fulfill all Hook Tender responsibilities

• Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information, and treat all employees with respect and dignity
