    Night Shift

    Full-Time, 36 hours/week

    6:30pm-6:30am

    The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services is responsible to maintain continuity of patient care in the absence of the Unit Leaders in all areas of the hospital. Assures adequate staffing and optimum utilization of personnel. Exhibits strong communication skills, leadership and managerial abilities, and clinical skills. Exemplifies a positive role model for the department morale, attendance, quality of care, and professionalism. Promotes the institutional philosophy, mission, and values during all interactions with patients, families, staff and the community.

    Essential Job Function

    Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care in relation to patient assignments and work flow activities. Deals with patient and unit issues by utilizing the problem solving approach and makes realistic recommendations for change. Participates in growth and development of nursing and ancillary staff. Participates on committees, task forces, and quality teams to improve patient care organization. Participates in organizational and nursing activities and/or projects. Participates in appropriate educational opportunities.

    Supervises and coordinates activities of hospital personnel to maintain the continuity of a safe and efficient standard of care. Makes patient care assignments accordingly to staff ability and patient needs. Evaluates care given by others under his/her direction. Makes appropriate changes and provides feedback to other personnel. Maintains accountability for own care and care delegated to others. Adheres to ethical and legal standards. Seeks assistance from appropriate resources, when needed. Visits the nursing units to oversee nursing care and evaluate condition of patients. Evaluates the census and acuity level of patients per unit and assigns nursing personnel accordingly. Expedites the efficient delivery of materials (medications, equipment, linen, food and information services) to patients, physicians and/or staff. Responds to emergency codes throughout the hospital and assumes responsibility for directing staff as appropriate.

    Notifies on-call personnel of impending emergency surgery. Assumes responsibility for all administrative decisions, functions and/or emergencies (internal/external) in the absence of hospital administration. Obtains medical records when requested.

    Employment Qualifications

    Education Qualifications - List the minimum education, training, and experience required to perform the essential functions of the position.

    Required Minimum Education:

    2 year/ Associates Degree

    Preferred Education:

    4 year/ Bachelors Degree

    Licensing/ Certification -

    Licensure/Certification Required:

    Current RN License in the State of Ohio.

    Licensure/Certification Preferred:

    BLS and ACLS

    1 year acute care
