    Summary:

    The HR Generalist position is a key member of the HR Business Partner and Transformation team at Rush University Medical Center. This role will focus on the support of full client service delivery and the execution of the HR Partner/Client strategic initiatives (Strategy Culture) in support of the Rush System for Health. The position reports directly to the HR Partner. The position supports the HR Partner and designated client area activities included but not limited to: employee relations, succession planning, change management, organizational design, coaching and conflict management, leadership consultation, performance management, training, employee engagement, equal opportunity/affirmative action, knowledge of client operations and other specific Human Resources needs. The HR Generalist role and incumbent should exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values as well as acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree

    • Three years or more of HR Generalist experience, or an equivalent combination of experiences in one or more Center of Expertise

    • Strong, written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality, and exercise independent judgment.

    • Highly organized to effectively plan, track, evaluate and follow up on multiple priorities for multiple people.

    • Sense of urgency around customer service to model behavior to others.

    • Viewed by others as approachable, dependable and a self-starter.

    • Ability to quickly grasp the essence of an issue or problem, and a curiosity to uncover facts.

    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills

    • Sound business ethics and judgment, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization as required

    • Team player with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Job Qualifications:

    • HR Certification

    • Prior experience using Link/Lawson

    • Prior experienced working within a matrixed structural environment

    • Prior experience working in healthcare or academia

    Responsibilities:

    1. Participates in the development, implementation, oversight and analysis of current and envisioned recruitment

    2. In consultation with HRPs, act as a resource on various human resources matters, providing guidance, assistance and support to management, supervisors and administrators.

    3. Regularly prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends and ensures the timely and accurate generation of regular frequency reports.

    4. Responds to basic policy interpretation needs and addresses basic escalation action items from COE/Service Center.

    5. Responds to employee complaints and investigatory matters including but not limited to hotline complaint investigation initiation, compliance issues, background record hits, and general HR consults.

    6. In conjunction with HRPs, develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.

    7. Responds to payroll inquiries and engage with payroll department appropriately for resolve.

    8. Ensures local compliance with HR policies including but not limited to annual flu shot, annual mandatory training, manager performance review launch, etc.

    9. In consultation with HRPs addresses ad hoc compensation matters including but not limited to: job description evaluation processing, new job description creation, compensation determination for staff level roles, equity review and market evaluation requests.

    10. Completes organization redesign processing including but not limited to RIF documentation creation and filing.
