Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist in Danville, Kentucky. The incumbent will be responsible for initial billing, reviewing claims for accuracy, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the billing requirements for all payers. This role also involves regular follow-up on outstanding balances due from insurance companies and reviewing credit balances due back to the insurance payers.
Conduct initial billing for all payers through paper and electronic claims submissions
Review all billing claims to ensure accuracy of charges and appropriate billing edits
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of billing requirements for all payers and make necessary corrections to claims before billing
Navigate payer websites to check eligibility and claim status, staying current with any ongoing changes
Conduct regular follow-up on all outstanding balances due from insurance companies by working daily Accounts Receivable reports
Review all credit balances due back to insurance payers and process them appropriately
Perform timely follow-up on all Payer Rejections that come through the Clearinghouse from your designated payer
Review all claim denials and remittance rejections for accuracy of charges and appropriate billing edits, make necessary corrections and re-file charges to the insurance company or determine if the balance is self-pay or a contractual adjustment. Requirements - Proven experience in an Insurance Follow-up role
Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Proficient in using standard office software and applications
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Familiarity with insurance regulations and guidelines
Ability to analyze and resolve issues related to insurance claims
High level of initiative and self-motivation
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
Willingness to stay updated with changes in insurance policies and regulations
Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients and insurance representatives
Ability to handle high volume of insurance follow-ups.
