    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

    SAAS Engineering provides evaluation and deployment planning services for new/emerging products/technologies in Oracle.

    Pioneer new technologies in collaboration with Product Development and Enterprise Operational teams in a Development IT organization

    • Lead and plan new Enterprise Technology Deployments

    • Provide technical solution on performance issues escalated from Production / Test environments

    • Develop best practices and standards for Deployments and Operations

    • Work closely with Product Development on emerging products as part of the product quality improvement process

    BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

    You will be in a global internal development team to

    • Evaluate, innovate, develop, and support any variety of internal SAAS Engineering automation systems geared to produce efficiency at scale.

    • Provide internal production system support

    • Participate in projects and influence project directions in compliance with Oracle technology standards.

    • Create and adjust SAAS Engineering standards related to various automation and machine learning technologies.

    • Help development team to improve Oracle product quality.

    • Research new technologies across technology stacks and infrastructure layers

    DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

    As part of this team, your responsibilities include:

    • Ensure production system stability and availability

    • Plan and deploy production system migration/upgrade

    • Involve and influence project directions in compliance with Oracle technology standards

    • System debugging and performance tuning

    • Work with development team closely to improve Oracle product quality

    • Research and Develop new technologies

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Security Clearance

    US Citizenship and ability to work on US Government systems required.

    • Ability to fulfill role/duties independently within defined policies and procedures

    • Ability to balance multi-task and multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is key

    • Be able to work on multiple projects and willing to work on occasional weekend maintenance windows

    • Ability to function both as an individual contributor as well as a team player

    • Strong communication skills and fluent English

    • The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have experience supporting various automation platforms at a data center scale, able to work with minimal supervision.

    Technical Skills

    • 10+ years working experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environment, 5+ years as a systems engineer, systems architect, or technical lead.

    • Outstanding Oracle DBA skills; preferably with 19C

    • Deep Database Skills in RMAN,RAC,ASM, Data guard, corruption handling, backup and restore is mandatory

    • Experience operating on Exadata is essential

    • Medium to Expert level of automation skills using one or more computer languages such as Terraform, Python, Perl, Shell, Java, ansible

    • Experience with virtualization technologies will be advantageous

    • Experience with logs analytics tools such as Oracle Management Cloud Log Analytics or Lumberjack will be advantageous.

    • Experience with use, deployment, and development of cloud computing platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a must.

    • Strong SQL , PLSQL/ NoSQL experience along with tuning and performance evaluation.

    • Ability to convert conceptual architectures into functional applications and infrastructures end to end.

    • Ability and experience mapping stakeholder needs into functional requirements.

    • Knowledge and experience of understanding Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning is a plus.

    • Strong ability to anticipate emergence at scale in complex systems.

    • Operational on-call support experience on production, mission critical environment is a must, including hands on experience.

    Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    • Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

    • As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.

    • You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

    • Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.

    • Be part of team supporting 24/7 environments requiring flexible working hours.

    • Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.

    • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

    • 7+ years of software engineering or related experience.

    US: Hiring Range: from $41.83 to $85.67 per hour; from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
