    Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented Lab Manager in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Continuous Diagnostic & Mitigation (CDM) Data Services Program. The CDM Data Services Program is a critical component of CISA's national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace. This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.

    The CDM Data Services Program mission is to provide a standardized platform to collect, transform, and integrate cybersecurity data from relevant authoritative data sources into a coherent data, delivering actionable information into Agency and Federal Dashboards to identify risk areas in support of mitigation as well as to facilitate coordinated agency and national response to cyber-threats.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Design, build, and maintain cybersecurity lab environments for testing and evaluating various cybersecurity tools.

    • Install, configure, and maintain cybersecurity applications such as Tenable, Forescout, ServiceNow, Crowdstrike, Axonius, Tanium and others in the lab environment.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into lab infrastructure designs aligned with cybersecurity objectives.

    • Develop and execute test plans to evaluate the performance, functionality, and security of cybersecurity tools in the lab environment.

    • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to the lab infrastructure or the integration of cybersecurity tools.

    • Provide expert-level support and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of cybersecurity tools.

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in cybersecurity tools and technologies.

    • Collaborate with vendors and participate in product demonstrations, workshops, and training sessions to enhance cybersecurity expertise.

    • Harden operating systems and applications in accordance with published standards

    • Keep thorough documentation of lab infrastructure, configurations, and testing procedures.

    • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior lab engineers and support personnel.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field of study

    • A minimum of (3) three years of proven experience as a Lab Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on implementing and maintaining cybersecurity tools

    • Expert-level knowledge of cybersecurity tools, such as: Tenable, Forescout, ServiceNow, Crowdstrike, Tenable, Axonius and others

    • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, vulnerabilities, and threat landscape

    • Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining lab environments for cybersecurity testing and evaluation

    • Basic understanding of setting up API keys for programmatic access to tools

    • Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and optimizing cybersecurity tools in a cloud lab environment such a AWS, Azure or GCP

    • Experience deploying infrastructure as a service (IaaS) Virtual Machines on cloud platforms

    • Proficient in administering both Windows Server and Redhat Linux Operating Systems

    • Understanding of containerized applications on platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes

    • Experience applying secure technical implementation guides (STIGs) to operating systems and applications

    • Basic understanding of networking technologies in a lab environment

    • Familiarity with scripting languages and automation tools for lab environment management and testing

    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team remotely and accomplish work tracked by a ticketing system

    • Ability to learn new tools as assigned as the technology landscape evolves

    • Proven record of delivering projects on time and within scope

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • JIRA experience

    • Confluence experience

    • Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS

    • A security certification, such as, CompTIA Security+ Any additional relevant industry certifications are a plus

    Security/Clearance Requirements:

    • Must be a U.S. citizen

    • Able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD)

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

    • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

    • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

    • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

    The projected compensation range for this position is $72,100-$120,900. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
