Laboratory Technician

Lab Tech - starting at $16.50/hr

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine testing of a large volume of samples, possibly including process water, crude oil, refined products, and/or renewable feedstocks.

• Prepare samples for distribution, testing, retention, or disposal as appropriate.

• Work in a team environment with other technicians/chemists and under the direction of a lab coordinator, supervisor, or area chemist.

• Meet training expectations; demonstrate competency in lab techniques per standard operating procedures.

• Execute work in a safe and reliable manner.

• Provide timely and accurate data entry of lab results.

• Follow laboratory quality assurance protocols to ensure high data accuracy and precision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Quali?cations

• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail

• Good organizational skills

• Experience with Excel and Microsoft products

• Effective communication skills

• Associate's degree or higher in the natural or physical sciences

Preferred Quali?cations

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science field with four Chemistry courses and two Chemistry labs

• Ability to work both independently and with a team. Analytical and reasoning ability.

• Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) experience
