    A Lead Controls Engineer is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in Overland Park, KS, Arlington, VA, or Denver, CO (all hybrid) areas. This role involves serving as a technical specialist for Federal projects, providing controls design solutions for various types of federal facilities, supervising engineering staff, managing project budgets and schedules, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

    responsibilities

    • Provide controls design solutions for federal facilities, including MILCON facilities, intelligence/command centers, generation stations, SCIF designs, etc.

    • Design Power Control & Monitoring Systems (PCMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).

    • Produce design drawings, control system specifications, and design analysis documents.

    • Develop sequences of operations and input/output lists for control systems.

    • Develop cost estimates and materials lists.

    • Coordinate with BIM/CAD team for drawing production, using Bluebeam for markups.

    • Collaborate with project teams and client stakeholders on conceptual designs and design reviews.

    Desired Skills

    • Mission critical, redundant controls systems design experience.

    • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC).

    • Familiarity with the applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).

    • CxA (Commissioning Authority) certification and experience.

    Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
