Join our company and be part of an innovative team that's First in Food. Location Description Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds. Responsibilities This is a 2nd shift position and the hours are 3 PM - 11:30 PM. Position Summary: The Lead Person plays a crucial role in collaborating with department supervisors to ensure efficient operations. This individual will train and guide new and existing personnel, maintain a safe work environment, and allocate work tasks within the department. Upholding safety standards, adhering to GMPs, and preserving product quality are paramount responsibilities of this role. Responsibilities: Train processing and production personnel in the assigned department, assisting in updating training for existing personnel with equipment or procedural changes. Assign work tasks to department personnel and assist with safety audits to maintain a safe work environment. Maintain control records related to processing and foster effective working relationships between department members and other areas. Continuously monitor production lines for quality products, promptly notifying appropriate personnel of any discrepancies found. Monitor processing equipment to ensure proper production standards are maintained and report maintenance issues affecting productivity, food safety, quality, or human safety. Encourage employee suggestions to enhance productivity, quality, or cost control in production. Maintain accurate downtime records and daily shift reports for all equipment in the assigned area. Complete daily paperwork, SAP entries, PEB, and Bill of Lading accurately and in a timely manner as required. Operate forklift and pallet jack as needed and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone by adhering to safety policies and procedures and incorporating safety and health into all tasks. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and report any conditions or practices that may affect food safety and quality to management. Be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet production demands. Always ensure regulatory compliance and perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications

    Education and Experience Required:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

    Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

    Previous forklift and/or pallet jack experience desired. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees of the organization. Proficiency in mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Ability to direct, train, and motivate department personnel. Ability to recognize problem situations, investigate, and take appropriate steps to resolve. Comfortable working in cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid environments. Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments. Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending on the assignment. Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction. Displays responsible behavior at work. Open to change. Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift and pallet jack license. Must be able to work overtime or weekends when required.
