    Morley Moss, Inc. is currently looking for a Lead Surveyor to work out of their Sunnyvale, TX location under PreConstruction in their BIM/VDC department. Prior experience in Electrical Construction or similar industry, conduting survey work using Trimble or similar software and tools, is preferred.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Lead Surveyor role role is responsible for laying out precise construction points at various job sites using state-of-the-art Robotic GPS point equipment such as Trimble GPS Total Stations, ensuring the project's landmarks are established with precision. As an embodiment of accuracy on site, the position requires adherence to strict tolerances, safeguarding the high-quality standards upheld in every task undertaken.     QUALIFICATIONS

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Setup and operate Robotic GPS point equipment, such as Trimble and/or GPS Total Stations.

    • Handle and carry up to 50 pounds of GPS equipment at jobsites on various terrain.

    • Locate and mark points throughout the jobsite for Electrical and Low Voltage Systems.

    • Uploading and downloading of data collectors and capable of using all functions of the Robotic GPS equipment and data collectors, depending on the needs of the project.

    • Establish checkpoints prior to shooting points to maintain/confirm 1/16" tolerance.

    • Ability to carry control throughout the project and maintain 1/16" tolerance.

    • Work closely with the BIM/VDC department, on-site Operation and General Contractor teams to address any problems/issues.

    • Construction and/or Survey experience with concentration on commercial/industrial projects.

    • Perform all work while adhearing to all company and jobsite safety rules and regulations.

    • Recommend and implement improved work processes and procedures.

    • Develop and execute Surveyor training for project assigned users.

    • Other duties as assigned

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma/GED required.

    • Minimum 1 Year Experience in the use of Robotic GPS equipment/Surveying in Commercial Construction industry is a plus.

    • AutoCAD MEP/Revit Software is a plus. (Will provide on the job training)

    • Good Mathematical and Problem-Solving Skills that relate to the use and operation of the Robotic GPS equipment.

    • Must have reliable transportation.

    • Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and ability to pass a driving record check.

    • Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints and project specifications.

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

    • Ability to complete task with accuracy and strong attention to detail while meeting aggressive project schedules.

    • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well individually and as part of a team.

    • Must be able to work effectively and independently in an office, construction trailer, or construction job site. This requires the ability to work at different locations, which may include driving between multiple work sitesduring the day or week. Construction site setting may require working in tunnels, roofs or catwalks.

    Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate withmultiple levels of employees and other professionals.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The physical demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for anextended period of time and frequently stand and walk. Including but not limited to: peripheral vision, Focus (distinctness or clarity), Color perception (discriminate between colors), Depth perception (determine distance relationship between objects) .

    This job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employee, subcontractors, and trades. This job operates in an 80% construction site and 20% office work. This job requires the ability to understand meanings of words and ideas associated with them, to use them effectively and to present information or ideas clearly.

    Handle and carry Robotic equipment on various jobsite terrains. Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment between 10-50 lbs. To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 5-20 times daily. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeSome duties in this position are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions of a jobsite including working outside at times in inclement weather, and exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration. Most work is performed in an office environment during normal business hours.
