  • CIFC Health's Pediatric Department is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As an LPN at our health center, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to children from birth to 18 years of age. You will work alongside pediatricians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest standard of care to our patients.

    Responsibilities within LPN License:

    • LPNs gather information to be used by providers in assessment and patient care.

    • LPNs administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers

    • LPNs monitor and record vital signs, medical history and symptoms

    • LPNs assist with physical exams and medical procedures as needed and within licensure

    • LPNs draws, administers, and documents immunizations to patients as ordered by the physician

    • LPNs provide education to patients and families on healthcare topics

    • LPNs maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care

    • LPNs collaborate with school nurses, WIC colleagues, DCF and other medical departments as needed. Completes paperwork needed by external organization (e.g. school PE forms).

    • LPNs triage for calls on pediatric patients, using established protocols to determine appropriate care, including at home management, or timing and location of medical visits.

    • LPNs provide patient/family education including education on after hours, triage and referral services, and disease states.

    • LPNs contact specialists to obtain letters and results and helps to set up home therapies if appropriate as determined by a provider.

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • Current LPN license in the state of Connecticut

    • Previous experience in pediatrics preferred

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual strongly encouraged to apply

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask

    • Understanding of medical terminology and nursing protocols

    • Experience with electronic medical records required; eClinical Works preferred.
