Description

Assisting new residents in adjusting to unit, philosophy, and goals of Willow Point Nursing Home;

• Reporting to Charge Nurse any accident or change of condition of resident and documenting on progress notes in the chart;

• Discussing clinical issues regarding resident care with Charge Nurse;

• Working as a member of the interdisciplinary team to assist with the preparation, implementation and continuing evaluation of the care plan;

• Observing, recording and reporting progress or any change in resident's condition;

• Updating the care plan as needed;

• Carrying out therapeutic treatments;

• Administering and dispensing medications (with the exception of IV) to residents, observing for side effects and effectiveness;

• Securing/accounting for controlled drugs;

• Maintaining nursing care and administrative records and reports;

• Attending staff meetings and in-service programs.

Minimum Qualifications

A) Completion of a course of study approved by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse and licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State

COVID Vaccination required.
