    This position ensures ISFSI operations are conducted in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations, requirements, and licensing bases. Additional duties include corrective action coordinator, fire protection program administrator, co-point of contact with NAC International.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Prepare technical response on behalf of Dairyland to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) correspondence, including bulletins, information notices, generic letters, and requests for additional information from the NRC pertaining to installation, modification, or license transfer from La Crosse Solutions.

    2. Engage in and maintain an awareness of nuclear industry regulatory trends and changes that relate to spent nuclear fuel and ISFSI operations.

    3. Be responsible for clear, concise, accurate, reports as required by the ISFSI Manager.

    4. Develop a procedure for an Aging Management Program for Important to Safety material at the ISFSI.

    5. Ensure new systems and equipment meets NRC and other applicable regulatory requirements.

    6. Maintain the ISFSI Fire Protection Program.

    7. Prepare spent fuel records to support transfer of the fuel offsite to the Department of Energy.

    8. Initiate, plan, and coordinate Work Orders for the ISFSI.

    9. Perform regulatory reviews of all changes to Plans and Programs to ensure they do not reduce regulatory effectiveness or commitment.

    10. Documents and submits a License Amendment Request along with justification, to the NRC, when there is a potential reduction or reduction in regulatory effectiveness/commitment.

    11. Ensure Important Safety components are properly procured, received, and stored as required by ISFSI Administrative Control Procedures and NAC International requirements.

    12. Perform 10 CFR 72.48 and 10 CFR 50.59 Evaluations of activities conducted at the ISFSI.

    13. Ensure the 10 CFR 72.212 report is current as related to changes in the ISFSI site and surrounding area.

    14. Incorporate design bases, regulatory requirements, codes, and standards into drawings and specifications related to ITS SSCs design and changes thereto.

    15. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable NRC Regulatory Guidance documents, NEI Guidelines and Industry Standards.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 3 years of licensing experience. Equivalent combination of experience and competency in technical matters related to licensing activities and other engineering and scientific support aspects may be utilized as a substitute for the education requirements of this position. Experience may be substituted on a one-to-one basis for academic qualifications.

    (Note: these requirements are from ANSI-N-18.1 which is a current regulatory commitment in the Quality Assurance Program Description).

    Skills

    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) and Adobe Professional

    • Working knowledge of Chapter 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

    • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.

    • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites and meet NRC security and DPC security requirements.

    • Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.

    • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.

    Licenses and Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license, SRO, or other nuclear power-related licenses or certificates a plus.
