    The MACHINING LEAD will

    optimize production, quality, and efficiency through maintaining great systems, a well-trained staff and a collaborative work environment.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    include but not limited to:

    Responsible for leading production in their area on their shift and communicating with leads on other shifts.

    Read and review previous shifts notes. Prepare notes for all applicable areas.

    Assign work to those in the department and ensure optimal flow. Prioritize work based upon product and resources. Participate in weekly plan to meet production schedule to support one time delivery to customer.

    Responsible for the training and development of the employees in their department. This includes creating and implementing training plans, completing performance reviews, and shadowing / coaching individuals.

    Maintain maximum efficiency through areas via use of 5S and other lean methods and participation in continuous improvement activities.

    Troubleshoot any issues with equipment.

    Present process improvements for the department, including capital equipment needs and costs.

    Plan and coordinate work flow with other departments and scheduling function. Interview and evaluate applicants for vacant positions.

    Supports company policies working with direct reports and collaborates with Management and / or Human Resources to resolve issues/concerns

    Collaborates with engineering and quality to facilitate improvements of process and/or quality concerns.

    Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

    Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    3-5 years’ experience; previous manufacturing experience preferred.

    Minimum of 1-year previous supervisory experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.

    Experience with quality systems including documentation and instrumentation.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

    Strong working knowledge of company policies and procedures.

    Ability to read blueprints.

    Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other QA gauges is a plus.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.

    Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

    Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.

    Strong problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to think independently.

    Monday - Thursday; 3:15pm - 1:45am + overtime as needed
