  • Title: Maintenance Technician

    Location: Wilmington DE 19801 US (Onsite)

    Duration: 12 months Contract

    Pay Range $25.00 to $30.00/hr.

    We are looking for a "Maintenance Technician" to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.

    Job Summary:

    The Maintenance Technician assists in monitoring building system operations and performance under close supervision. The role requires a range of trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating, and cooling. The technician will comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. The position involves performing assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance, completing maintenance and repair records, reviewing work orders, estimating time and materials needed for repairs, and ordering necessary materials and supplies. The technician will also assist with the installation, modification, troubleshooting, and repairs of building equipment systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor building system operations and performance under supervision.

    • Utilize various trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating, and cooling.

    • Comply with codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and safety.

    • Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.

    • Complete maintenance and repair records as required.

    • Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.

    • Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.

    • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment systems.

    • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, drains, shop, and HVAC.

    • Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

    • Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.

    • Perform carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.

    • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

    • Provide vendor escorts as needed.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Follow procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

    • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.

    • Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.

    • Understand that errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

    Must Haves:

    • High school diploma or GED.

    • Minimum of three years of related experience in preventive maintenance.

    • Experience in an office environment with expected interaction with clients.

    Nice To Have:

    • Experience with work order (WO) systems.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

    • Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

    • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.

    • Ability to solve problems in standard situations using basic analytical skills.

    • Proficiency with personal computer and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training.

    • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
