    Be part of the nation-s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

    Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), an LLC of Bechtel, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as theHost Site Operations Managerto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

    The successful candidate will

    • Provide leadership and direction to ensure individual CCP Host Site (TRU Waste Generators) projects are executed in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner that is reflective of a strong safety and quality culture.

    • Perform strategic planning.

    • Understand and communicate CCP and Host Site Commitments and manage potential conflicting priorities.

    • Track CCP actions related to Host Site Projects as appropriate.

    • Coordinate with the CCP Certification Manager to established and maintain adequate shippable inventory.

    • Monitor CCP Host Site Projects performance against established goals.

    • Mentor CCP Host Site personnel - with focus on Project Management, Conduct of Operations and CCP-s system of controls.

    • Set performance goals for direct reports.

    • Assign Technical Managers for procurements related CCP Host Site Projects

    • Approve Expense Reports for assigned personnel.

    • Be accountable to the CCP Manager for achieving assigned goals and objectives.

    This position may require moderate domestic travel.

    The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday; 10-hour days.

    Exempt Salary Grade (36-37)

    Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

    • Bachelor-s degree plus six (6) years of professional experience.

    • Associate-s degree plus ten (10) years of professional experience.

    • High School Diploma or Equivalency plus fourteen (14) years of professional experience.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the CCP Certified Program - including transportation requirements

    • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of operational safety, conduct of operations, and quality assurance.

    • Five (5) years of demonstrated leadership of a multi-disciplined organization.

    Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

    Preferred Requirements

    • Ten (10) years of experience working at Category 2 nuclear facilities with five or more years directly involved in supervising/managing TRU waste operations or programmatic activities.

    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and the ability to interact with a variety of constituents.

    Minimum salary $128,071 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate-s relevant experience and education.
