Manager of Data Architecture

Description We are searching for a Database Technology Manager to join our team in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. This role is crucial to the strategic alignment of business intelligence, data, and analytics needs across the portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of developers and engineers, building and implementing modern data warehouse solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team member selection and development, ensuring compliance with appropriate policies and procedures.

• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of a new, Azure data platform, including enterprise data lake and data warehouse, in alignment with strategic objectives and organizational goals.

• Identify and implement continuous improvements to maintain the highest level of integrity and accessibility for ongoing data needs.

• Develop and maintain relationships with architects, developers, project teams, vendors, and business experts to ensure data management solutions are supported.

• Obtain a thorough understanding of the company's data and current-state data warehouse structures to complete analysis and identify dependencies and opportunities for improvement.

• Work in close collaboration with business experts, developers, analysts, and project teams to understand data requirements, integration needs, constraints, and performance requirements.

• Oversee the creation of technical and design documentation that is thorough, accessible, and continuously maintained.

• Collaborate with business leaders and the BI team to develop and implement data governance and data management strategies.

• Ensure data management platform and structure maintain compliance with industry best practices, SOX and other compliance requirements, SOD, audit logging, and data risk management.

• Continually build the enterprise data lake and data warehouse using Azure data platform technologies including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and APIs. Requirements - Proven experience in a Database Technology Management role for a period of 10 years or more

• Proficiency in Database Administration and Data Warehousing

• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and MS SQL Server

• Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing (BI DW)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Tableau

• Knowledge of ETL - Extract Transform Load processes

• Familiarity with Azure Active Directory

• Experience with Big Data technologies and strategies

• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on strategic planning and team management

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
