    Generac Clean Energy Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to work on new product introductions for clean energy solutions. You will be working cross functionally with design engineering, supply chain, test engineering, product management, and contract manufacturers across North America. You will use your manufacturing engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and manufacturing limitations to accelerate the product development and manufacturing processes. You will create novel manufacturing processes for assembling the product, and then you will further design and build NPI tools, equipment, and assembly lines to test the manufacturing process created.

    You will be based out of Reno, NV but you will need to travel to other engineering sites as needed: Boston, Maine, and Vancouver.

    Minimal Qualifications:

    • BS Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability

    • In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection

    • 2+ years of experience as a Manufacturing/Mechanical/Automation Engineer

    • Proficient in the development and deployment of PFMEAs

    • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability principles.

    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and see the solution implemented to a high level of accuracy & quality.

    • Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level.

    • Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques.

    • Failure/Data Analysis - Plans, develops, and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products.

    • Strong technical writing ability and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner.

    • Good understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews and cost reduction methodologies

    • Experienced with SOLIDWORKS, and other similar software/tools.

    • Experience designing production line layouts in AutoCAD.

    • Ability to travel internationally to engage with manufacturing partners.

    • Travel required ~ 25%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience performing DFM/DFA/DFT

    • Experienced in Industrial Automation Control Systems

    • Proficiency designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred, Catia is a plus

    • Experience creating technical specifications for manufacturing equipment.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Lead static and kinematic studies to simulate assembly and equipment interactions.

    • Lead PFMEA, build sequence, and process layout development.

    • Lead product virtual builds, pilot builds with cross functional teams

    • Support prototype and design validation builds design and deliver prototype manufacturing tooling, prepare bill of process, lead manufacturing trials, etc.

    • Support manufacturing validations builds at NPI facility and also at contract manufacturers.

    • Develop new manufacturing processes.

    • Determine layout of production workstations for NPI lines

    • The job involves communicating well with internal and external teams, traveling to suppliers in different regions, and on-the-spot critical decision making.

    • Plan, organize, direct, and conduct industrialization-related activities within the supply chain team.

    • Develop, Manage, Audit, Improve, and Correct supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques and quality control processes from the advanced development phase to mass production qualification.

    • Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Suppliers

    • Lead supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality

    • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams.

    • Guide suppliers in developing exceptionally robust processes and procedures to promote efficient and seamless production of high-quality products.
