  • The Manufacturing Strategy and Development Manager is a key role within the Dunkin' Manufacturing Team. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations and is responsible for continuously reviewing the current Dunkin' CML business' strategy to identify its potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for improvement and ultimately creates highly detailed plans and goals based on their assessments to implement these strategies. They lead all aspects of strategic planning, financial analysis, new CML development, contracts and oversee all 3rd party contract manufacturing partnerships. Their primary role is to influence and lead the CML system, driving quality, production growth, efficiency and cost savings while upholding the standards and reputation of the brand while enhancing operational excellence and franchisee profitability. They will work to create tools and data-based models that provide important information for both internal and external partners, to create growth opportunities through effective business, strategic planning while building effective relationships through mutual trust and respect.

    This role requires an onsite presence at the Boston Support Center at least 80% of the time.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop, implement, and manage the CML long-term strategy with a constant focus on continuous improvement.

    • Develop and manage CML Key Performance Indicators as related to restaurant donut and bakery sales through utilization of our Business Management System (BMS) data and retail POS.

    • Create and deliver weekly Leadership Updates that drive growth in a multi-billion-dollar category.

    • Collaborates with team leadership and cross functional partners to achieve team goals.

    • Use analytics for benchmarking initial CML results to then measure both short and long-term CML trends.

    • Drive CML business growth by identifying gaps in the CML business related to COGS and presenting solutions to reduce identified gaps.

    • Accountable for strategically managing and developing the manufacturing of donuts and bakery products across the Dunkin' system, assessing current business needs and future planning for strategic growth. The strategic planning focuses on creative ways to source, manage, operate and secure facilities for the future with back casting into the current environment.

    • Leads all contractual elements of the business pertaining to manufacturing, including but not limited to approved bakery agreements, third party services and contractor support.

    • Driven passion for safety and quality of donuts and bakery products including process, assessment, and processes for continuous improvement.

    • Brand liaison for all Business Management System (BMS) vendors.

    • Lead and manage efficient and timely collaboration with cross-functional and field team members creating a positive environment regarding safety, quality, availability, creativity, process, and franchisee relationships as needed to support the business.

    • Support the Food Safety team and 3rd Parties with collecting and reporting on key performance measures to assist Sr. Leadership in directing resources to initiatives that will offer the best brand protection in the manufacturing and retail environments.

    • Develop and support tools and systems to manage and communicate all financial data pertaining to donut production, including Standard Cost Data, Point of Production data, accuracy, and comparable sales data.

    • Leads all reporting and analysis of manufacturing financial data and makes recommendations to Ops Systems Leadership Team based on the findings.

    • Uses experience, analysis tools, and market-based data to develop and modify product supply plans for all restaurants. Supports system growth plans by providing information and recommendations on available production platforms.

    • Spearheads the new production facility development process per aligned strategy, oversees capacity analysis, documentation, and facility approval.

    • Works with internal and external partners to identify potential business opportunities for Dunkin' Donuts' donut manufacturing vendors and franchisees. Assists in quantifying the possible opportunities and provide guidance for establishing partnerships and additional business and revenue.

    • Provides direction and guidance in support of development, strategy and financial analysis. Manages Finance and Manufacturing data to provide detailed financial reporting and analyses.

    • Collaborates with cross-functional employees to ensure safety, CML strategy, tactics, and execution is aligned with Brand objectives.

    • Identifies and researches the needs of the organization with the use of third party partners to support the business from a food safety and manufacturing environment. Leads and manages the business relationship and expectations with said vendors throughout their life cycle.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4-year degree with concentration in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or accounting ideal.

    • 5 + years progressive management experience in manufacturing finance, financial analysis, business development and related food safety expertise.

    • Retail Foodservice within a franchisee environment, i.e., QSR franchised a plus.

    • Very strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint in particular), mapping software, and production manufacturing software

    • Knowledge of database software; examples include Oracle Business Intelligence and Hyperion database.

    • 3rd shift work, late nights and on call may be required on occasion
