Overview
We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a dedicated Nursing Station Technician for our Medical ICU department located at our University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank)! The Nursing Station Technician (NST) is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties. This position is 36 hours every two weeks, 12 hour shifts on the day/night shifts (7am-730pm) (7pm -730am) with every third weekend rotation. Responsibilities Job Description
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. The NST is responsible for assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining rooms, reordering, and stocking supplies. In addition, the NST will maintain unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests.
