Job Description

Fluor Infrastructure O&M is seeking a Structural Engineer with bridge maintenance experience, preferably with an emphasis on life cycle and rehabilitation work planning. This position is responsible for the management and support of somewhat complex maintenance contracts and for working with a group of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) technical specialists during proposal development.

Primary responsibilities consist of

1. Technical support for operations and maintenance of transportation infrastructure projects.

o Project support activities include a specific focus on bridge and structure design, construction, and maintenance.

o Routinely reviews bridge design and construction plans to ensure the maintainability of the structure through inclusion of easily maintainable components with the goal of achieving the lowest lifecycle cost.

o Inspects existing bridges and structures to baseline the rate of deterioration of each component and identification of any immediate or short-term maintenance or rehabilitation needs.

o Bridge rehabilitation programs should identify and detail each bridge component with the timing and costs associated with anticipated rehabilitation or replacement.

o Bridge rehabilitation program development requires operations and maintenance knowledge of specific bridge components including bridge decks, superstructure types, protective coatings, barriers and railings, bearings, substructures, slope protections, retaining walls, and associated repair methods.

o Technical reviews of other civil non-structural infrastructure elements.

1. Project pursuit management.

o Provide oversight of and contributions to all aspects of the proposal and estimate development along with review of commercial documents.

o Lead the development of price proposals and technical proposals.

o Represent Fluor Infrastructure O&M in project proposal meetings with partners and clients.
