  • The Department of Surgery, Divisions of Transplant and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seek candidates for an open rank, open track position as a transplant heart and lung procurement surgeon. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications. The incumbent will join a thriving multidisciplinary heart and transplant team and have the opportunity to participate in relevant research, ex vivo perfusion, and/or normothermic regional perfusion, and actively participate in the teaching program with students, residents, and fellows.

    Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible, have completed relevant cardiothoracic surgery training, have heart and lung procurement experience, and meet qualifications to be approved as a procurement surgeon by our organ procurement organization.
