This individual will support the day-to-day administrative functions and processes for Optum's contracted physician network and support patient care workflows.
Location: 2-3 days a week in office at 19191 S Vermont Torrance, CA 90502
If you reside near Torrance, CA, you will enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid-remote role as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities :
Oversee processing of physician adds, terms and demographic changes
Review and verify provider panel status and current health plan IDs
Manage and maintain current roster of primary care and specialty care physicians
Support patient retention workflows during provider network changes
Distribute materials, performance/patient data, and communications to physician network
Support provider credentialing/recredentialing processes
Connect telephonically with patients to facilitate access to primary care and wrap-around care services
Attend and help prepare for regional meetings (i.e., provider meetings, education sessions, etc.), health fairs and other regional events
Respond to and resolve questions or concerns from providers, internal staff, or patients in a timely and service-oriented manner
May interact with patients directly, on occasion

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Currently Medical Assistant certification OR the ability to obtain certification prior to start date
1+ years of managed care, medical insurance, or other related experience
1+ years of experience in a patient or provider support role
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams
Ability to work 2-3 days a week in office at 19191 S Vermont Torrance, CA 90502
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in value-based healthcare operations with a health plan, medical group, or IPA
Bilingual

Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter

California Residents Only: The hourly range for California residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
