Payroll Manager

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager in New York, New York. The primary function of this role is the management of the payroll process, including onboarding, processing, etc.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring all relevant documentation is in place for new employees

• Regularly check and verify the work of payroll accountants to ensure accuracy

• Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of payroll processes

• Act as a "fixer", identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise in the payroll process

• Manage and understand 401k contributions, ensuring all uploads are correct and understanding how these affect the balance sheet

• Handle tax issues across various states, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

• Use the ERP system for payroll processing, dealing with various types of pay such as salary, commission, and hourly pay

Requirements

• Proficient in HR Payroll Systems

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a payroll department

• Previous experience as a team lead or supervisor is preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, and benefits

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality and accuracy

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
