    CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Subject matter Expert III (SME IV) supporting the Depart of Defense Chief Information Office Mission Support Service (CMSS) Contract at the Department of Defense located at the Pentagon, Washington DC.

    What You'll Get to Do:

    The PNT SME IV will support DoD CIO GPS/PNT Core Support Services enterprise goals, increase mission effectiveness, and deliver efficiencies. Additionally, the SME IV will serve as subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as business, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the various sciences within the requirements of the CIO GPS/PNT Task Order.

    More About the Role:

    • Provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems which require exceptional knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Apply principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise to specific task order requirements. Provides advice on esoteric problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter. Designs and prepares technical reports, studies, and related documentation, makes charts and graphs to record results, prepares and delivers presentations, training, and briefings.

    • Utilize functional area expertise gained through direct industry experience to assess the operational and functional baseline of an organization and its organizational components. Provide industry vision and strategic direction with regard to the PNT enterprise. Guide the determination of inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area's ability to support/meet organizational goals. Generates functional area strategies for enhanced operations in a cross-functional area mode throughout the organization.

    • Perform research and applies expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and/or products and technologies.

    • Develops and implements new research objectives, establishes project priorities, defines methods of approach, and executes research study. Responsible for innovative use of scientific research concepts, principles, and practices and contributes to advanced methods and techniques in field of study.

    • Provide GPS and PNT Technology Export Oversight, to include ensuring compliance with export control requirements for GPS user equipment and security devices.

    • Provide research, assessments and process support to the Export Licensing and Control activities governing the sale and release of equipment and technologies to foreign countries or commercial companies.

    • Support DoD CIO in reviewing requests from government contractors and other private sector enterprises to use GPS PPS equipment and security devices in Independent Research and Development (IR&D) programs.

    • Support the DoD CIO in a wide range of interagency activities within the DoD and between the DoD and other Federal Departments and Agencies that facilitate the global application and management of the systems.

    • Assist DoD CIO in research, development, review, and coordination of Interagency Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding between the DoD and other Federal Departments and Agencies regarding non-DoD use of GPS or access to GPS PPS or other capabilities within the DoD PNT Enterprise.

    • Support DoD CIO in the development of DoD inputs to biennial updates of the Federal Radio navigation Plan (FRP) document.

    • Prepare draft plans for DoD and interagency consideration for control of Federal Radio navigation systems, to include GPS, in the event of domestic security threats.

    You'll Bring These Qualifications:

    • Active TS/SCI security clearance

    • Doctorates (PHD) degree and 20 years of related experience working with GPS/PNT and National Leadership Command Capability.

    • Meet the IAT Level II security certification requirements required by DoD 8140.01-M, such as CompTIA Security + or CASP etc.

    • Requires 1 of the following technical certifications and IAT II.CCNP; MCSE; RHEL; VMware VCP/VCAP; MS Azure Architect; and IAT II

    • Demonstrate strong writing skills in order to provide finished briefing products, fully developed correspondence packages and policy document reviews and recommendations.

    • Familiarity with the National Capital Region (NCR) and be knowledgeable of DOD (services, components, COCOMs, etc.) and the various players who are stakeholders in the Senior leader communications mission domains and with U.S. PNT stakeholders.

    • Possess strong working knowledge of Pentagon processes and offices.

    • Have strong technical expertise and skills using MS Office products (word, excel, teams etc.)

    $143,600 - $316,000
