    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Power Generator Field Technician will troubleshoot issues, perform repairs and service existing generators. This position will complete new generator start-ups, with testing and commissioning. This role will also be tasked with assisting Power Generation Electricians on installations of small generators and Automatic Transfer Switches. The Power Generator Field Technician will service locations throughout the Treasure Valley but may also be required to travel out of the area on occasion.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Perform routine inspections and tests to complete preventative maintenance on generators. 

    • Travel to job site to conduct service work.

    • Troubleshoot electrical problems and generator engine issues on site. 

    • Perform scheduled service and troubleshooting tasks on customer’s equipment. 

    • Complete daily service orders

    • Perform residential generator and ATS Start-ups with load bank test, transfer test and owner training. 

    • Perform all tasks in accordance with established safety procedures outlined by the industry, company, and OSHA.

    • Complete all required documentation with accuracy, include service activities, repairs performed, parts replaced, and all other relevant information.

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

    • 3 years of generator mechanical experience required. 

    • Experience with single and 3 phase generator power. 

    • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred (i.e. Generac, Kohler, CAT, Cummins).

    • Any gas or diesel certifications considered a plus. 

    • Generator Technician Certificate preferred. 

    • Ability to use shop tools required. 

    • A valid driver’s license is required, with safe driving record. 

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Effective communication skills and excellent customer service. 

    • Keen attention to detail. 

    • Ability to work independently and in a small team environment. 

    • Able to lift 25-50 lbs. frequently. 

    • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.

    • Have reliable attendance, be respectful and responsible at work.

    • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
