Weyerhaeuser's Montana Wood Products is currently looking for a Predictive Maintenance Technician to join our Columbia Falls Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) facility. A qualified candidate would have a thorough comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance, reliability and processes and techniques to safely maintain lubrication of the facilities high-tech manufacturing equipment.

    Position Details

    As a Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Technician in training is responsible for learning and performing reliability-based techniques to help troubleshoot and maintain machine centers including vibration analysis and route-based data collection, thermography, ultrasound, motion amplification, oil analysis, alignment and balancing and others. A person in a PdM role is an asset to our mill site and will always be striving to improve themselves and our facilities. Utilizing state of the art testing equipment and technology, a PDM tech's main role is to catch and prevent machine failures before a breakdown and to investigate failures with providing recommendations for improvements or failure mitigation.

    • A successful candidate will put safety before everything else.

    • Must demonstrate an elevated level of professionalism in the role.

    • Must be proficient in computer skills and able to learn work-related software.

    • Strong written and oral communications skills and attention to detail.

    • Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Computer proficiency is essential, SAP experience would be an asset.

    • Be willing to acquire all necessary certifications and training to ensure competency.

    • Ability and willingness to work at heights using aerial platforms as necessary.

    • Experience working in industrial/manufacturing/construction environments

    • Ability to lift, carry 50 lbs.

    • Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance systems

    *Education *

    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

    • Formalized/technical training is preferred

    Experience

    • Experience with equipment maintenance preferred

    • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

    • Experience in the Wood Products industry preferred

    • Vibration Cat I Certification or better preferred

    Specific Skills

    • Demonstrated understanding of basics of vibration knowledge

    • Ability to pass Vibration analyst Exam (ISO Cat I) within first year of employment.

    • Ability to recognize deficiencies in alignments, bearings, etc.

    • Knowledge and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, and material transfer systems.

    • Knowledge of bearings, lubrication, and power transmission

    • Ability to work with vendors for recommendations and vibration monitoring systems

    • Knowledge of LOTO procedures and ability to conduct adequate RADAR risk assessments

    • Knowledge and ability to use Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

    • Ability to work closely with supervisors and other departments; be a team player/leader; good communication skills, and demonstrate positive attitude

    • Willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends

    • Maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety, and attendance records

    • Be meticulous, clean, neat, and orderly.
