    Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development, Oracle IT is seeking an applications architect to work with our innovative products/tools and services. The successful candidate will use their experience to define and guide customers in application and solution architecture design for deployment into public clouds for Oracle internal workloads.

    The selected candidate should have expertise/knowledge/skill in multiple technologies. You will perform high-level design based on provided standards; specify, design and implement changes to existing or new application architecture; help build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs; communicate with stakeholders as necessary to discuss changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products. The role's primary focus is to provide solutions for infrastructure and application services leveraging industry standards. Final designs should allow users to automate most tasks required to enable and manage our offerings. In addition, this role is responsible for complex problem resolution and creating and improving procedures. Other duties include researching, proofing, and authoring technical documentation that will be used within the team and across the company.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include working with a global team of cloud architects to provide complete design solutions. You will also work with other development teams to integrate multiple applications into a cohesive whole system. Scaling applications to large user counts and very large data and resource requirements will be a regular challenge. The role requires a deep understanding of Linux server administration, Networking, Oracle Database, Weblogic, SSO and key applications and services. Experience in Agile development models, understanding of modern programming languages, developer pipeline tools (source control, build, test, release) and Devops tools will be an asset.     • Design and solution architecture for infrastructure to application full stack

    • Provide support to operations on the designs

    • Ensure the technical feasibility of designs

    • Optimize application design for maximum speed and scalability

    • Assure that all design input is validated

    • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders in design and implementation of products

    The work can be demanding at times, particularly as deadlines approach, when extra hours may be required based on the candidate's effective deliverable capacities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 10+ years' experience in application/infrastructure architecture/design along with operating systems, Oracle stack and networking experience

    • At least 6-8 years of experience in systems architecture

    • At least 4-6 years Oracle Database knowledge and programming in SQL, PL/SQL

    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Java, J2EE ( Lambda, Streams, Functional programming)

    • Understanding of serverless functions

    • Good understanding of Agile software development principles including using common tools such as JIRA

    Preferred

    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience with Dockers, Kubernetes (OKE, AKE, EKE, GKE or others), networking protocols, advanced tools and troubleshooting techniques

    • Experience with Spring MVC or similar frameworks

    • Development experience writing Restful webservices e.g Jersey

    • Message broker experience, e.g. Rabbitmq or Apache Kafka

    • Experience with Distributed cache e.g Hazelcast, Memcached, Redis

    • Orchestration tools like Terraform, Rundeck, etc.

    • Working with or supporting production, test, and development environments for medium to large user environments

    • Installing and configuring application servers and database servers

    • Experience in developing scripts to automate software deployments and installations

    • Experience in a 24×7 high-availability production environment

    • Effective communication skills via phone and email in English are mandatory. Business Level English Skills

    • Possess and demonstrates strong logical-thinking skill, full of intellectual curiosity and high desire for self-development.

    • Ability to come with best solution by capturing big picture instead of focusing on minor details. Root cause analysis

    • Good customer & executive communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

    Familiarity

    • Ticket support systems such as JIRA, Remedy, Trac, Bugzilla, etc.

    • Cloud based development in OCI/Openstack/AWS/Azure/Vcloud

    • Linux/Windows operating systems along with virtualization

    • Oracle OVM, VMWare virtualization technologies and exposure to Cloud configuration tools

    • Testing frameworks like Mockito/TestNG

    • CI/CD automation, e.g. via Jenkins

    • Data visualization via Kibana

    Certifications (Preferred if any)

    • Cloud Certifications - OCI Certified, AWS Certified

    • Java Certifications

    US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
