    Oracle Health and AI (OHAI) is a new business unit tasked with creating scalable platforms and services at the intersection of cloud, AI and Machine Learning.

You'll be one of the senior engineers on the team that is working on the development of a cloud-native service supporting the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard. Our team owns the full stack from designing the backend API services to deploying, monitoring, and supporting in the cloud.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    The role requires skills in the following areas: Java microservices, Kubernetes, Helm and Cloud infrastructure automation with Terraform. The role's primary focus is development, automation and operations of infrastructure and services by leveraging software development and industry standard solutions to automate many tasks required to enable and manage our service.

    We're searching for hands-on engineers to join Oracle Health & AI (OHAI) and focus on development, automation, configuration, and operations. The team you work in will have diverse expertise in cloud services and software development to provide the stability, performance, and reliability for our customer's needs.

    What Will You Do

    • Develop cloud infrastructure automation and services

    • Participate in all DevOps phases from code development to full production operation

    • Create and manage our infrastructure provisioning, and CI/CD pipelines, and validate disaster recovery scenarios for the service

    • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

    • Build reusable code and libraries for future use

    • Participate in operation and support of the application stack and infrastructure to ensure high availability and quick incident remediation. Once the service becomes generally available, serve as part of our on-call rotation.

    Qualifications

    Skills

    • Adept in two of three areas: (1) Java microservices (2) Kubernetes and (3) Terraform

    • Hands-on experience in infrastructure automation through Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Packer or similar

    • Proficient in the following areas is highly desired: observability best practices and tools, JVM troubleshooting and monitoring

    • Proficient with Git source code management (SCM), and with creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

    • Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, distributed, scalable services in the cloud

    • Familiar with software deployment lifecycle in the cloud

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience in a 24×7 high-availability production environment

    • Familiarity with one or more of the following: protocols (HL7, FHIR), compliance (HIPPA), and container based cloud infrastructure technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

    • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

    General Qualifications

    • Extensive experience in software development

    • Experience with development operations

    Educational Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field experience
