  • Job Description

    One of our chemical manufacturing clients is seeking a Process Engineer to join their Quality Team in Philadelphia, PA. The Process Engineer will work with the technical and quality team to address revisions to process specific documentation and process control as well as optimization in its Cation and Regeneration plant for Ion Exchange Production. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Utilize hands on experience at floor level to notate and improve production processes for complex recipes for a variety of product groups and processes.

    • Apply engineering skills and experience to improve safety, quality, and procedural adherence to current SOP as well as developing more robust processes.

    • Support efforts to identify areas within the operations function where safety, quality, delivery, and cost may be improved.

    • Develop engineering criteria to plan projects and drive smaller projects from approval and execution to recognize objectives.

    • Work with others from plant floor to plant leadership to communicate ergonomic, safety, and process control considerations on all current plant processes.

    • Support technical efforts to develop and integrate manufacturing processes for new and significantly revised products.

    • Support the implementation and tracking of all experimental product trials and assists production in the process of defining the scope as well as reporting the purpose, process, and payoff.

    • Troubleshoots process problems based on an understanding of plant processes and process chemistry.

    • Tracks production history for specified products and reports monthly/yearly volumes and trends to plant management.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelors Degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering

    • 3 to 5 years of experience within Process Engineering

    • 1 to 2 years of technical writing experience

    • Experience working with SOP's, procedures and work instructions - MiniTab experience null
