    JOB SUMMARY:

    Tests/inspects molded components for acceptability and/or function. Completes the Molding quality inspections. Interfaces with molding personnel to detect and contain issues. The position will also work closely with the QA Shift Leaders in documentation of quality events. Provides quality related support to projects.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to

    • Conducts sampling, product testing and visual inspection of molded components, identifying molding defects and non-conformances.

    • Must be familiar with and understand Molding inspection procedures and standards. Regularly monitor product for acceptable quality to the latest product specifications/procedures.

    • Completes accurate documentation of all inspection/testing data and maintains an easily retrievable filing system.

    • Assists with studies and validations.

    • Conducts device history, procedural and product audits, as directed by Quality Management.

    • Monitors product and/or process trends at discretion of QA Management.

    • Assists with root cause analysis activities.

    • Reads and interprets sampling plans to determine sample size and/or accept/reject criteria.

    • Issues product holds and pallet identification tickets.

    • Observance of all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

    • Conducts special sampling and product testing, as required.

    • Collects product/process data for FWO's, special projects, validations, etc., as required.

    • Completes other duties as assigned by QA Management.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITES:

    Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to

    • Complies with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.

    • Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles.

    • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience

    Previous QA experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements: Level 2

    • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pound occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly. Walking or standing to a significant degree, or sitting constantly and pushing/pulling controls.

    • Ability to lift 40 pounds and/or push 100 pounds

    • Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb and reach.

    • Ability to stand most of the shift.

    • A visual acuity analysis must be successfully completed or on file for associates entering this position. A valid driver's license will also be an acceptable substitute for the visual requirement.

    Mental Requirements

    • Ability to read, write and understand English.

    • Initiate and ability to work with limited supervision.

    Equipment Use

    • Understanding and experience with the use of personal computers and various applications required. Ability to operate electronic balance and/or other measuring systems and gauges efficiently and accurately.

    Working Conditions

    • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

    • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals and broken glass.

    Supervision

    • Reports directly to Quality Engineer Process Leader. Has no supervision over others.
