  • Job Description Summary

    The Quality Leader is responsible for overall product quality associated with the manufacturing process through defined procedures while applying knowledge and judgment. The role will oversee a team of process quality engineers focused on execution of activities in a job shop environment to ensure operational excellence. Candidate should be comfortable working in a variable atmosphere requiring strong communication between direct reports and other facility stakeholders.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control of products, services and manufacturing processes.

    • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

    • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

    • Lead and drive Lean activities resulting in improved processes to drive quality, on-time delivery and financial results.

    • Identify root cause and implement corrective actions to reduce defects and CoPQ.

    • Ownership of calibration program for gauging and equipment.

    • Oversee Quality Management System for document and procedure control.

    • Provide support on non-conformance management. Work with suppliers and Service Center personnel to document causes and solutions.

    • Collaborates with others to solve issues. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

    • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management or related discipline from an accredited university or college with 5+ years of experince in manufacturing quality assurance and control; or a High School Diploma / GED with 9+ years of relevant experience.

    • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

    • Established project management skills.

    • Proficiency in SAP Software.
