    The principle responsibilities of this role includes day-to-day operations, personnel management, serving as a liaison with external vendors; establishing/ensuring adherence to clinical standards of care, evaluation and procurement of department equipment and supplies and participation/collaboration in the creation of the operational and capital budgets. Manages the operation of all technical equipment and the performance of all procedures in the department.

    Job Profile

    • Principle responsibilities of this role includes day-to-day operations and personnel management,

    • Manages the operation of all technical equipment and the performance of all procedures in the department and serves as a liaison with external vendors to ensure PM contracts, instrument / equipment maintenance.

    • Evaluates and procurements appropriate par levels for department equipment and supplies

    • Assesses effective and appropriate service needs and volumes while adjusting staffing levels accordingly to provide safe, quality patient care. This includes and is not limited to maintaining competency to step into the radiation therapist role providing additional staffing support and/or backfill staffing as needed.

    • Establish and continue to update an onboarding process that ensures opportunity for education and evaluation of RTT's competence for each technology and procedure for which they are assigned to perform.

    • Provides information to caregivers and physicians through rounding, huddles, staff meetings and other forms of communication to relay updates regarding department updates, organizational activities, financial performance, educational opportunities, interdepartmental activities and QI activities.

    • Manages human resource functions such as interviewing, selection, onboarding, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development. Maintains personnel files, including documentation of appropriate staff orientation, competency, training, discipline and performance reviews. Oversees department timekeeping and payroll. Collaborates with HR concerning employee issues and performance. Conducts employee coaching, counselling, disciplinary actions and annual appraisals. Monitors staff adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

    • Ensures equipment is operating properly by manually performing quality assurance and quality control checks, observing monitors and scales to note divergence from expected readings, detecting equipment malfunctions and determining appropriate action.

    • Provide application and execution of ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologist and be able to accurately document treatment set-ups, doses and calculations.

    • Maintain values congruent with the profession's code of ethics and scope of practice as well as adhering to national, institutional and / or departmental standards, policies and procedures regarding treatment delivery and patient care.

    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills and conflict resolution skills to professionally and effectively work with patients, families, the radiation oncology team, Intermountain Health Medical Group, Big Horn Basin Cancer Center, and Cody regional Health.

    • Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department team and inter-organizationally (Intermountain Health and the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center) to facilitate the joint venture's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

    • Participates in organizational meetings and committees as appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program, with a preferred Baccalaureate Degree in Radiation Therapy Technology, required.

    • Must be a registered member in good standing of the ARRT in radiation therapy or registry eligible, required.

    • Current license in the state of Wyoming, required.

    • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start date, required.

    • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, required.

    • A minimum of two (2) years of previously related leadership and/or management experience, preferred.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

    $39.15 - $71.80
