  • Lad Lake Therapists serve as clinical team leaders to ensure that the best trauma-informed care practices are implemented throughout each residential program. In addition to providing individual and group clinical interventions, Therapists provide mental health consultation to their entire residential treatment team which may include coaching specific interventions, implementing protocols, and providing general guidance of practices. Therapists may review youth referral information and conceptualize youths’ goals and treatment needs for the residential treatment team. Therapist caseloads vary depending on the needs of a residential program and the number of beds in their unit. Numbers vary between four and fourteen.

    This therapist position is for our St. Rose girls facility.

    JOB SUMMARY

    To coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team's efforts in designing and implementing a comprehensive treatment plan for each child and their family assigned to the team. To provide individual, family, and group therapy as prescribed under the treatment plan, monitor and evaluate the plan's overall effectiveness, and recommend changes where needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Provide ongoing individual, group, and family therapy as determined by the therapist/team leader’s clinical judgment in consultation and in compliance with contracts.
    • To monitor overall child management strategies and interventions and ensure that they are congruent with the goals of the treatment plan
    • In consultation with the Unit Supervisor, assess treatment team functioning, and identify and resolve impediments to effective problem-solving.
    • Meet with the team as needed to assess team relations and problem-solving
    • Keep ongoing records on the individual, group, and family therapies to summarize critical issues and establish direction for the therapy.
    • Develop initial and 30-day treatment plans, monthly case plan reports, discharge summaries and after-care plans in collaboration with the treatment team. Oversee and approve confinement use to ensure established guidelines are met.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education/Training:Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or other counseling field emphasizing child, adolescent, and family therapy.

    Skills:Demonstrated knowledge of normal and pathological child and adolescent development and behavior. A proven ability to work with children and adolescents and their families who are often resistive to treatment investment. A demonstrated ability to guide and direct the treatment efforts of a multidisciplinary team toward common treatment goals.

    Experience: Formal academic training, supervision, and experience in family therapy, emphasizing a brief, strategic model of intervention. On-the-job experience with a multidisciplinary treatment team in a hospital, residential, or group home setting.

    Compensation details: 23-32 Hourly Wage
