    Organizes and conducts physical and occupational therapy programs within the Hospital. Administers physician prescribed physical therapy programs to restore and maximize function and prevent disability following disease or injury. The Senior Physical and Occupational Therapist oversees staff therapists, assistants, Aides, Volunteers and Students. Oversees all activities related to physical and occupational therapy

    Mercy Fitzgerald, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an experienced, Senior PT to join our Acute Care team!

    Shift:

    1FTE, 40hrs/wk Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, rotating weekends. Per department needs.

    Summary:

    Performs evaluations and implements treatment in all levels of care (acute, TCU, acute rehab, outpatient). Delivers care in accordance with patient practice guidelines upon physician referral. Adheres to all hospital and department policies including but not limited to: infection control, performance improvement, billing procedures and scheduling. Assists in the supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants, students, aides and volunteers.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Performs evaluations and treatments within appropriate timeframe and productivity standards based upon unit. Each therapist will adhere to ethics and professional standing based upon our core values at Mercy as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding provisions of therapy services. Will demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills demonstrated through mentorship and participation in student program. Will demonstrated understanding in operational and administrative skills throughout department.

    • Active participation in interdisciplinary committee, community events and promotion of hospital/department through events in hospital as well as in community. Monitor staffing, productivity and education of Level 1 &2 therapists to remain in good standing with department

    • Completes all mandatory education related to discipline, operating unit and license and helps monitor staff completion in their respective unit

    • Completes one management/leadership course

    • Participates in Student program with level 2 students 1x within 2 year period

    • Provides in-services within hospital setting as needed

    • Participate in Journal Club/case studies within department

    • Participates in at least one hospital committee

    • Assists with monthly reports/stats

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. Masters degree or Doctorate preferred

    • Must be a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of PA

    • BCLS certification required

    • 4+ years of acute care experience required
