Role Definition

This position is with the Construction Industries Transmission Development team in the LPSD Drivetrain Control Systems & Validation division.

You will be a test engineer located at the Peoria Proving Ground to provide onsite support for the development of transmission and torque converter control systems for cycling and draw-bar applications. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact machine performance and durability for a variety of drivetrain programs.

Responsibilities

• Operating Caterpillar equipment as a test engineer to challenge the drivetrain system, develop robust calibration solutions and expose durability and reliability concerns.

• Become proficient in the tools and processes used to calibrate transmission control systems

• Learn to acquire data from various tools used in machine applications.

• Plan and execute on-machine tests to optimize transmission control systems and calibrations in Proving Ground and other field environments.

• Responsible for maintaining control software calibration, component inspections, data analysis, and documentation of results and recommendations.

Degree Requirement

Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum required.

Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
