    This Opportunity

    WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Civil Designer for our Wilmington, NC office. Candidate will be involved in projects with our Civil Engineering Team as part of the Earth & Environment Group and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

    Your Impact

    • Effectively and efficiently utilize AutoCAD, to create engineering construction documents (CAD drawings).

    • Effectively and efficiently utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, to create surfaces for overall site grading plans, and drainage features.

    • Ability to produce high quality and detail oriented technical and professional deliverables.

    • Efficiently make required changes, additions, and/or revisions to existing CAD drawings.

    • Assist fellow cowokers in troubleshooting and diagnosing errors with AutoCAD software and CAD issues.

    • Ability to coordinate with fellow coworkers and engineers on projects as well as with other disciplines to successfully deliver project deliverables.

    • Provide on going project and task updates regarding progress of work and effectively communicate any outstanding issues before they become problems.

    • Possess a general knowledge of engineering based concepts including drainage, grading, site layout, survey, etc.

    • Consult team on recommendations for CAD templates and standards.

    • Capable and contain overall integrity to adhere to WSP USA Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5 years of CAD production experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software for civil design projects.

    • A minimum of a High School Diploma or Technical School Certification in Drafting/Design or Engineering

    • Extensive experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D grading design and plan production work.

    • Working knowledge of civil engineering and associated engineering disciplines.

    • Demonstates excellent communication and problem solving skills.

    • Ability to uphold workplace safety and abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

    • This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years of CAD production experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software for civil design projects.

    • Experience with Erosion & Sediment Control plans, Transmission Line Site Development plans, Substation Site Development plans, and Commercial/Industrial Site Development plans.
