    At Burns & McDonnell, Traffic Engineering tasks include the following:

    • Construction plans for: pavement marking, signing, signalization, lighting, temporary traffic control and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

    • Traffic operations analysis for: Traffic Impact Studies, Corridor Studies and facility site access and internal circulation studies.

    We'll count on the successful candidate to be responsible for the following:

    • Providing technical leadership as a senior traffic engineer or project manager giving direction, and support for transportation projects.

    • Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members.

    • Serving as the primary technical point of contact for the client.

    • Implementation of quality control processes.

    • Pre-positioning for project pursuits and supporting proposal development.

    • Leading coordination and communication of project requirements and schedule needs across disciplines.

    • Developing scope of work and fees for projects.

    • Identification and communication of technical risks associated with projects.

    • Oversight of production work required to meet deliverable milestones.

    • Identifying, developing, and communicating processes and tools to increase efficiency across team and department.

    • Creating, improving, facilitating and teaching training courses to the project team and department.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • BS degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline required.

    • Minimum of 7 years of Traffic Engineering experience, 10 years of experience preferred .

    • PE license required, PTOE preferred.

    • Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies a must.

    • Experience using HCS, VISSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and other software packages required.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to work in a team environment are musts.
