Fulltime position Friday-Monday swing shift

Triaging incoming patients
Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
RVT: $25.00 - $40.00 hour
SVA: $25.00 - $36.00

High school diploma
1+ years
of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as Senior Vet AssistantStrong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
