Description
Technician will be responsible for performing accurate troubleshooting & diagnosing, timely repairs, and component installation on all models of Caterpillar equipment. Repairs will meet CAT specifications and correct system operation. This may include disassembly and assembly, diagnosis, testing, inspection and set up. Must be safety minded, have a positive attitude, and willing to work hard to make a positive impact on our customers and Wheeler Machinery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Always keep safety first and work safely.
Run diagnostics, troubleshooting and perform inspections and repairs on equipment.
Order and Return parts.
Ability to work in established flat rate guidelines.
Be willing to work overtime as the need requires.
Rebuild and repair engines.
Be willing to comply with customer site and MSHA safety requirements.
Good working knowledge of Caterpillar and other heavy construction equipment.
Demonstrated excellent work ethic with self-motivation, ability to work safe with minimal supervision while maintaining dealership expectations of thoroughness and customer service.
Required Qualifications:
Safety conscious and outstanding safety record
Extensive experience performing heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Have a positive team-first attitude.
Comfortable with change.
Be clean and organized.
Be professional.
Must provide own general tooling.
Must be willing and have the ability to keep up with new technology.
Must be able to drive and be fit for duty.
Must be able and willing to work overtime, nights or weekends when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on CAT equipment.
Computer Skills.
Experience using Cat ET and SIS
