    Architect / Snr. Director of Development

    Product Development (Database)

This team develops public cloud database and infrastructure management software and helps companies handle platform resources to deliver service, elasticity, and availability, as well as run workloads in public-cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid-cloud environments.

    Exadata Cloud Service Details - ~~~/

    As an Architect/Snr. Director of Development, you will own and lead software architecture and development of major components for the Exadata Cloud Service offerings on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and other Cloud platforms such as Azure. You must have experience with scalable distributed systems and have led teams that have had a collaborative approach to systems architecture.

    You will be expected to work hands-on to define, improve and lead the architecture and design of the Service and Control Plane that drives the infrastructure APIs of the Service. This role requires an understanding of the complete service including end-to-end architecture, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of running enterprise-level production services. The expectation is to be able to identify and define strategic problems and propose solutions with POCs to demonstrate feasibility. You must have good exposure to designing and implementing Cloud-native applications and services in public cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, etc Responsibilities will also include building the product roadmap, helping drive critical initiatives and collaborating with partner engineering teams & Product Management - especially as we add multi-tenant Exadata Compute and Storage management to the offering.

    • 15+ years of software design and development experience with distributed, highly scalable and available systems

    • Deep knowledge of systems components including OS/Linux, Virtualization/KVM, Storage, Networking and Computing Architectures

    • Experience with cloud-native microservices and Control Plane design and development

    • Strong understanding of Hyper-converged infrastructure and Exadata, RoCE/RDMA and SR-IOV

    • Experience with Cloud infrastructure services and multiple public cloud infrastructure platforms

    • Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring and coaching for engineering staff and working across geographies.

    • Demonstrate advanced experience with Java, Python, C/C++, etc.

    • A background in developing large scale Compute, Networking or Storage product or service a strong plus.

    • Experience working with Databases preferably Oracle and RAC

    • Understanding and experience of Cloud Networking architectures (such as SDN, Load balancing, Firewall, NAT, IPv6, remote access and various tunneling protocols) preferred

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Candidate must have a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields

    US: Hiring Range: from $161,600 to $338,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
