Job Summary
Part of a larger team delivering high quality technology solutions to the business. Design, develop and install software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.
This person acts as a system administrator for AEP's Data Governance application.

Essential Job Functions:
Develops advanced solutions to resolve customer and prospective customer issues in a logical, creative and structured manner.
Align the client's goals, needs and objectives to the solutions. Communicate issues and status in a clear, timely manner. Interpret specifications and build solutions to those specifications. Generate infrastructure support documentation. Evaluate and propose process improvements.
Build and maintain a high level of knowledge about the company's software/hardware products.
May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.
Minimum Requirements:
Solution Engineer Senior:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Solution Engineer Principal:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 7 years relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience:
Experience in an Agile/Scrum team
Experience writing SQL
Familiarity with data connection technologies; ODBC, JDBC
Experience with Container software such as openshift, Kubernetes, PodMan
Experienced with cloud technologies such as AWS
Support/Admin experience for business facing software
Linux/Unix administration = Command line experience
Familiar with Data Governance Software helpful
Familiar with Data governance workflow

Solution Engineer Sr (SG7): $83,413-$104,268
Solution Engineer Prin (SG8): $94,225- $122,491

$83,413.00-104,267.50 USD
Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate's ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities.
