    Senior Embedded Engineer within our next generation networked systems in Fire Life Safety. This position will be a key end-to-end NPI contributor from Network controller's embedded stack (FW/HW) to overall network system design including utilization of advanced debugging and simulation tools which comply to customer, cybersecurity, regulatory and industrialization requirements. You'll participate in the applicable system, cybersecurity, hardware, firmware verification and validation reviews. In addition, support the required activities part of the PDLC including internal and external customer support.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure seamless integration of embedded systems with overall product goals within Fire solutions governed by NFPA 72 style networks.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance team efficiency.

    • Support system performance enhancements and product testing automation and simulation.

    • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems via analysis.

    • Provide recommendations regarding alternative approaches and support via feasibility studies when required.

    • Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the embedded network engineering platform development area of responsibility.

    • Communicates with other program personnel, key stakeholders, customers and senior executives.

    Must Have

    • Bachelor's degree within engineering/computer science and 5+ years of relevant experience

    • Extensive embedded knowledge of the network system from the embedded controller stack of the network to OSI and TCP/IP to the system/topology level.

    • In depth knowledge of network principles, architecture, topology (proprietary, commercial and hybrid) and switches utilizing different physical layers.

    • Analysis comprises of analytical and hands-on both within the embedded stack (i.e. Application and Hardware layers) and system level utilizing the appropriate debugger and data analyzing tools to identify root cause and corrective actions.

    • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems via analysis.

    • Ability to translate user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to network design requirements specifications.

    • Awareness of the applicable industry standards (cybersecurity (IEC62443, etc.), secured messaging, regulated industry (i.e., Fire and networking))

    • Advanced Engineering degrees such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Master's Degree etc.

    • Embedded Network Controls, Embedded C experience, Embedded boot-loader experience and Embedded Linux development

    • Network controller hardware (ICs Microchip and associated drivers, etc.)

    • RTOS experience, Cyber security knowledge

    • Experience with JIRA/JIRA Agile/Bamboo and Agile/SAFe practices

    • Experience bringing-up and troubleshooting embedded products

    • Development of a simulation environment (complex networks; including testing embedded Stack)

    • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies
