    The Sr. Benefits Analyst will be responsible for driving Pennymac's benefits function: performing extensive plan analysis, design, and modeling for all health and welfare benefits plans. As the Sr. Analyst, you will also be responsible for all compliance-related activities (required audits and IRS filings) as well as managing all vendor relationships (examples include broker, insurance carriers, wellness, and 401k recordkeeper).

    The Sr. Benefits Analyst will:

    • Recommend benefits programs to sr. management by studying employee requirements and usage trends, and developments in benefits offered by competing organizations

    • Prepare and execute, with legal consultation, benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, agreements, and policies

    • Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare recommendations requiring a broad understanding of benefit plans and practices

    • Instruct broker representatives and other third-party administrators to effect approved plan changes

    • Conduct plan-related financial analyses and reconciliations

    • Handle employee benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution

    • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

    • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred

    • 3+ years of relevant work experience

    • Deep understanding of plan design concepts and issues

    • Advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel

    • Experience with self-insured plans preferred

    • Experience in health insurance industry is ideal or finance helpful

    • Experience with interacting with finance and accounting departments

    • Project Management experience

    • Reconciliation and Payroll experience is a must (Reconciling all our carriers bills each month to ensure all Employees that are on it are there and anyone termed aren't)

    • Payroll specifics: 401k contributions, HSA, adjustments, monthly billing etc.

    • Excel and Analytics is a focus - working with excel to create reports, reading reporting and data for monthly business reviews

    • Compensation experience is a plus (previous finance industry is great, but anything in a corporate type compensation structure)
