  • Description

    We are in search of a Sr. Buyer in Dallas, Texas. The role involves a broad range of commodity purchasing to supply production and facility, as well as special projects. You will be expected to manage vendors, negotiate prices, and balance buy quantities with delivery times to optimize inventory turns. This role also involves continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining records to ensure proficient operation of the ERP system.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage vendors and manufacturers, assessing their capabilities, and evaluating their performance

    • Negotiate prices and delivery, and resolve issues regarding delivery, pricing, returns, etc.

    • Identify opportunities for improvement projects within the continuous improvement framework

    • Balance buy quantities with delivery times to optimize inventory turns

    • Interact with various internal and external departments to ensure all processes/procedures are maintained

    • Maintain department records, following up on purchases and expedite when required

    • Ensure appropriate documents are used, stating terms and conditions

    • Prioritize customer on time shipments and departmental requests

    • Maintain databases within the materials section to ensure proficient operation of the ERP system

    • Utilize skills in CRM, Crystal Reports, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Management System, About Time, Buying Processes, Compliance, Customer Service, Documentation, Excel Formulas, and Microsoft Excel

    Requirements - Proven experience in a Sr. Buyer role or similar position

    • Proficiency in CRM and Crystal Reports

    • Extensive knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

    • Ability to utilize Management System effectively

    • Familiarity with About Time software

    • Comprehensive understanding of Buying Processes

    • Strong commitment to Compliance standards

    • Exceptional Customer Service skills

    • Excellent Documentation abilities

    • Proficient in Excel Formulas and Microsoft Excel

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Strong negotiation and analytical skills

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
