    Job Summary:

    The Sr. Managing Sculptor is responsible for leading all 3D activities in the Sculpting and Fabrication areas. Continuing to guide and enhance a culture of speed, flexibility, accuracy, and efficiency during the sculpting phase for all brands under the Polaris / INDIAN umbrella. They also lead the global sculpting strategy (including facility / advanced tools), resource planning, fabrication / rapid prototype shops and tactical execution of Powersports programs. They must possess a steady, consistent leadership style and skills to motivate, coach and mentor sculptors' development. Also responsible to pair modern technology such as digital tools, rapid prototyping, and high speed 5 axis milling with traditional hand modeling.

    This is a hands-on working modeler role through each stage of the process. They must have a strong design sense, design judgment and high-level sculpting skills. They lead the team through initial digital development, armature setup, full size clay modeling and hard model phases. This role has a high level of autonomy to execute and implement world class processes.

    Responsible for all aspects of the Sculpting & Fabrication Studios including:

    • Tactically leading the team through initial digital development, armature setup, full size clay modeling and hard model phases supporting hands on as needed to fill in and mentor.

    • Strategic scheduling, sourcing and hiring staff (including contract negotiations), and coordinating programs from start to finish.

    • Strategically implementing world class processes, tools and support long range planning.

    • Performance management - Motivate, coach/mentor, and develop staff.

    • Develop and manage departmental budget along with capacity planning across global studios.

    • Global Studio setup and planning responsibility including technology/process enhancements.

    Skills, Knowledge & Education:

    • BS/BA or equivalent experience in the art of sculpting, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Design.

    • 15+ Years' experience

    • Automotive sculpting experience preferred, Powersports experience a plus

    • Mechanical knowledge required, armature, diverse materials, etc

    • Proactive leadership skills & good team player to collaborate with Design and Engineering partners

    • Strong communication & leadership skills

    • Class A surfacing skills

    • Flexibility with a changing environment
