Sr. Systems Engineer

KBR National Security Solutions (NSS) is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama. The Engineer selected for this role will perform systems engineering analysis and testing on a Mobile Ground Weapons Platform incorporating multiple subsystems, including but not limited to, High Energy Laser Weapons Subsystem (HEL), Electrical Power Distribution Subsystem (EPDS), Thermal Management (TMS), Inertial Navigation and Global Positioning Subsystems (GPS & INS), threat acquisition and targeting subsystem, and on-board communications network. Additional duties include:

• Supports hardware development and integration, and IR&D efforts.

• Brief senior management and customers on program deliverables and status.

• Develop and optimize Systems Architecture.

• Works independently, as well as part of a team

• Lead trade studies, evaluates system performance and design, performs CONOPS development, mission analysis, and evaluates Human Machine Interfaces

• Prepares and presents technical materials during technical and/or program reviews

• Develops system and subsystem architectures(s), critical interfaces (ICDs)

• Generates system integration and test procedures

• Assists in the hardware and software testing of system and subsystems in Hardware-in-the-Loop environments and on actual operational hardware during system development and preparation of Mobile Ground Weapons Platform for demonstrations and fielding.

• Supports program management activities such as cost analysis, scope of work development, review of document deliveries, and development of program or team schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or Physics with five (5) or more years of experience; or a Master's Degree (MS/MA) in Engineering or Physics with three (3) or more years of experience as required

• Secret clearance required (requires US citizenship)

• Previous experience performing software/hardware integration and analysis for a real-time system

• Knowledge of MATLAB, LABView, UNIX, Linux and other systems engineering software packages

• Experience with Closed-Loop Controls Systems and System Interconnectivity.
