?The innovative team at Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to help further their efforts on a permanent basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Bensenville, Illinois area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

How you will make an impact

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

• ERP system experience

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Proven knowledge of AIA Billing

• Month end closings experience preferred

• Deep understanding of bank reconciliations

• Construction Accounting experience

• Credit Card Reconciliation experience

• Experience with G700

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Recent and relevant accounting experience
