Staff Accountant

Description

Stable client with excellent benefits is looking to hire a Staff Accountant who can oversee various accounting tasks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as: assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, prepaid expenses analysis, balance sheet analysis, maintaining fixed assets, assisting with the month end close process, maintaining the general ledger, resolving accounting discrepancies, researching accounting data, and assisting with the annual audit and compliance process. The ideal candidate for this role should have great problem-solving skills, excellent time-management and strong US GAAP knowledge.

Everyday Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting functions

• Month End/Year End Close

• Prepare weekly financial reports

• Reconcile bank accounts

• Assist with audit preparation

• Resolve accounting inquiries

• Assisting with responding to accounting inquiries

• General Ledger Support

• Maintain Fixed Assets

• Ad hoc special projects as requested

Requirements

The ideal Staff Accountant will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to

• 3+ years of Public and/or Corporate experience

• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite

• JDE, SQL and Access experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of GAAP
